Foursquare Pastor Dies to Earthquake in Indonesia
Four earthquakes and a typhoon have rocked Asia in the past month causing massive destruction and damage to: numerous Foursquare churches, church members' homes, and a Foursquare Bible college. For our latest update, visit FMI's Prayer Force Update.
Jakarta, Indonesia, in the Cianjur area of West Java, was hit by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake. Cianjur is one of the largest areas of Foursquare ministry in West Java. The quake claimed the life of one of our Foursquare pastors and destroyed a Foursquare church, a Bible college, and 70 homes owned by church members. The Indonesian Foursquare church has already raised thousands of dollars and has been distributing food throughout the area.
Area Missionary Jerry Stott writes, "The Cianjur quake is heartbreaking and personal to me because of all the people we know and minister to there. Cianjur has become a main ministry area for me. Over the past few months I have been preaching extensively at youth events, camps and teaching at the GPdI Bible College, which is one of the largest in the nation. Last month at a youth event I helped baptize a 140 young people there."

- Intercede on behalf of our Foursquare pastors and church members in these areas and pray for their wisdom and protection in the days and weeks ahead.
