It’s been an interesting 14 months since we’ve been in Honduras, as far as making decisions goes… At first it was just the difficulty of how to manage normal life with different patterns of traffic, shopping, language, and relationship building. Then at random times it's been complicated when we need to figure out how to [...] read morePosted By Jeff and Joy Maurer / November 15, 2009

October 09Futbol (soccer) is the number one sport in Honduras. It's more intense when all that energy goes to rooting on one sport! New LifeI love baptisms. Seeing the amazing transformation come across their faces as they follow in obedience to Jesus. Awesome. There’s no other word. GRANDMA âCuCuâ (pronounced show show in Kikuyu)Part 3:Walking down the dirt pathway to Jacaranda I always passed a crazy old grandma sitting in the dirt or mud just outside the door. She would yell to me in Kikuyu and I would talk to her and reach out to touch her, and even though I wanted to do more I would move on because I felt like I had to keep my focus on the women who were coming to sew. Once as I was leaving I tried to give something to eat to Grandma and children came from everywhere begging for food. I caused such an uproar from all the other mothers in the pathway, they yelled at me because I was giving food to an old lady... read morePosted By Garry and Brenda Kean / October 31, 2009

The Beginning of Jacaranda Creations (And how it's changing a family forever...)Part 2:As an evangelist walking through the slum of Marurui I wanted so much to lead people to Jesus, but as I listened to a pastor from Marurui Baptist Church share how difficult it has been to sustain discipleship amidst the overwhelming poverty, I realized that something practical was also needed. He shared how the women who came for Bible Study at his church soon stopped as they were too hungry and needed to find work in order to feed their children, it was then the Lord birthed in my heart the desire to begin a sewing ministry where we could provide income and at the same time disciple... read morePosted By Garry and Brenda Kean / October 28, 2009
