MTS/interns are sent out by their local church and FMI to serve alongside and support the ministry of one of our Foursquare missionaries. Tyler and Lizzy Jorgensen now serve in Gaborone, Botswana. Their goal is to help establish a training center in the city to train emerging Christian leaders and church planters that will serve in the region of Southern Africa. The Jorgensens are supported by Foursquare Canada.
Carolina Shaver is a former intern who is returning to the field in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to serve one of several six-month interval stints. Carolina will again be serving under South American Regional Coordinator Jonathan Hall, and Pastor Sandro Baggio. During her time in Sao Paulo, Carolina will continue working with the street people ministry and will also serve as part-time staff in Pastor Sandro's church office. Evergreen Christian Center of Hillsboro, Ore., is supporting her ministry.
Ryan Brown is serving in Phnom Penh, Cambodia alongside missionaries Ted and Sou Olbrich. His role includes coordinating all the short-term mission teams that travel to Cambodia to serve the orphanages and other ministries overseen by Foursquare Cambodia. Ryan is supported by Seattle City Foursquare church in Seattle, Wash.
Josiah and Cynthia Hubbard were married in November 2003 and wasted no time returning to the field. Both have experience serving in Costa Rica, but the two have been serving as a team since 2004. They are directors of EMAUS Foursquare medical ministry, which provides medical care for the most remote regions of the country. They will also be working with the Cabecer Indians who live in the jungle and a five-day hike from the road. Their home church, River of Life Foursquare Church in Berea, Ky., supports the Hubbard's ministry.
Jeff and Joy Maurer were senior pastors in Ohio when they felt the Lord call them to serve as missionaries. The Maurers, who served as pastors for 13 years, moved to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, in 2008 with their three sons to serve on the mission field full time. The Maurers are now working at a pre-school in Tegucigalpa. Joy is the principal of the school and also teaches English as a second language, and Jeff is the maintenance director as well as a work team coordinator.The Maurers are supported by York Foursquare Church in York, Penn.
Bill and Ginger Hoeben are serving with Michael and Geri Carey in Mexico, coordinating teams, assisting local pastors, consulting construction projects and providing administrative support. Escondido Christian Center in Escondido, Calif., is the sending church.
Gretchen Pikop is at the WorldBase Norway in Kristiansand, Norway, assisting national leader John Henry Nosen. She is part of a ministry team that is conducting outreaches around recent church plants to encourage and support their growth and ministry. Gretchen is serving under the support of her church, Northridge Foursquare Church in Northridge, Calif.
Tylene Johnson is volunteering at WorldBase Norway. Tylene has undertaken a number of duties including serving as part of the administrative support staff. Her church, Olympia Foursquare, in Washington state supports her ministry.
Victor and Lori Obregon have been serving on the islands of Papua New Guinea (PNG) since April 2007. Victor is a medical doctor and seminary student and Lori is a registered nurse. They are pioneering a medical ministry together with Foursquare PNG Regional Supervisor Jonah Horis, the provincial supervisors and the district supervisors. This rapidly growing ministry, New Hope Medical Ministries-Foursquare PNG, serves remote and underserved areas of Papua New Guinea. The Obregons combine medical outreaches with evangelism services. Their heart's desire is also to integrate the ministry with church planting efforts.They preach regularly and partner with regional Foursquare leaders to train pastors at weekly leadership training classes. Liturgy training, biblical counseling, self care and Christian education are among the topics taught at these classes. In addition, they are involved with the planning and implementation of evangelism crusades. The Obregons are supported by Northwest Church in Federal Way, Wash.
Brenna Stewart is an FMI Affiliate (a Foursquare family member serving overseas with another missions organization for three months or longer). She serves in Scotland with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) Seamill, and has the responsibility of leading small groups and discipling students on an individual basis. She also takes part in various outreaches in Scotland and abroad. Brenna is supported by Southlake Foursquare church in West Linn, Ore.
Krisnee Pipatanangkura is serving in Freetown, Sierra Leone, alongside of fellow Foursquare missionary Kathy Alexander. She will help provide general support to the national Foursquare leader by providing administrative assistance for the future Bible school and aid with administrative issues that arise with the Cagbury Village School project and other humanitarian-related projects. Krisnee's role will also include caring for and coordinating visiting teams from various churches. She is supported by Beaverton Foursquare in Beaverton, Ore.
Gary and Paula Hays are part of the team in Bangkok reaching out to area students through the Good News Study Center at the WorldBase. They will be serving this expanding ministry in various ways. Their ministry is supported by Eastside Foursquare in Millcreek, Wash.
