MTS/interns are sent out by their local church and FMI to serve alongside and support the ministry of one of our Foursquare missionaries. Many opportunities exist such as teaching children English, building churches, evangelizing, leading worship and more. Check the complete list of MTS/intern opportunities.
Brazil
Carolina Shaver is a former intern who is returning to the field in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to serve one of several six-month interval stints. Carolina will again be serving under South American Regional Coordinator Jonathan Hall, and Pastor Sandro Baggio. During her time in Sao Paulo, Carolina will continue working with the street people ministry and will also serve as part-time staff in Pastor Sandro's church office. Evergreen Christian Center of Hillsboro, Ore., is supporting her ministry.
Cambodia
Anna Blake is working under the leadership of FMI Missionaries Ted and Sou Olbrich, by helping with the many responsibilities of the growing orphanages, such as making medical records and distributing medical supplies. She is being supported by her church, Ft. Morgan Foursquare, in Ft. Morgan, Colo.
Emily Plater serves in several capacities with Foursquare Children of Promise. Her role includes assisting the national children's director in developing the national children's ministries program. Emily also assists in coordinating and hosting short-term mission teams who travel to the nation to serve alongside Ted and Sou Olbrich; she assists with communications and various other tasks as well. Emily is supported by The Church on the Way in Van Nuys, Calif.
Costa Rica
Josiah and Cynthia Hubbard were married in November 2003 and wasted no time returning to the field. Both have experience serving in Costa Rica, but the two have been serving as a team since 2004. They are directors of EMAUS Foursquare medical ministry, which provides medical care for the most remote regions of the country. They will also be working with the Cabecer Indians who live in the jungle and a five-day hike from the road. Their home church, River of Life Foursquare Church in Berea, Ky., supports the Hubbard's ministry.
Wyce Ghiacy has followed the call of God on his life to serve in Costa Rica. Specifically, he will be assisting at Tia Linda Ministries. This ministry reaches out to the multitudes of children in the nation who need Christ. Wyce is supported by Lifegate Foursquare Church in Downey, Calif.
Lana Davidson hails from Canada and has committed to serve, as the Lord has directed, in Costa Rica. For the next year, she is working alongside Foursquare interns Josiah and Cynthia Hubbard. Her prime objectives are to reach out to the Cabacer Indians and intercede on their behalf. She will also assist the Hubbards with various needs. Lana is supported by Foursquare Canada.
Mexico
Bill and Ginger Hoeben are serving with Michael and Geri Carey in Mexico, coordinating teams, assisting local pastors, consulting construction projects and providing administrative support. Escondido Christian Center in Escondido, Calif., is the sending church.
Dave Flareau has been in Mexico since 1997, serving as a construction supervisor, building churches and other facilities in the San Quintin area. Dave's church, New Hope Chapel Fellowship in Hilo, Hawaii, supports his ministry.
Norway
Gretchen Pikop is at the WorldBase Norway in Kristiansand, Norway, assisting national leader John Henry Nosen. She is part of a ministry team that is conducting outreaches around recent church plants to encourage and support their growth and ministry. Gretchen is serving under the support of her church, Northridge Foursquare Church in Northridge, Calif.
Tylene Johnson is volunteering at WorldBase Norway. Tylene has undertaken a number of duties including serving as part of the administrative support staff. Her church, Olympia Foursquare, in Washington state supports her ministry.
Scotland
Brenna Stewart is an FMI Affiliate (a Foursquare family member serving overseas with another missions organization for three months or longer). She serves in Scotland with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) Seamill, and has the responsibility of leading small groups and discipling students on an individual basis. She also takes part in various outreaches in Scotland and abroad. Brenna is supported by Southlake Foursquare church in West Linn, Ore.
South Africa
Tyler and Elizabeth Jorgensen are serving their second term in Willowvale, South Africa. The Jorgensens work as volunteer school teachers at Valley Dawn Christian School and are supported by Foursquare Canada.
Spain
Lindsey is serving at WorldBase Mediterranean in Madrid, Spain. Her role includes assisting with various tasks and helping with community outreach. Lindsey is supported by Living Way Foursquare in Little Rock, Ark.
Thailand
Jennifer Stevens is working at the WorldBase in Bangkok, Thailand, teaching English and building relationships to share the gospel. Fountainhead Foursquare Church in Carson City, Nev., supports her ministry.
Gary and Paula Hays are part of the team in Bangkok reaching out to area students through the Good News Study Center at the WorldBase. They will be serving this expanding ministry in various ways. Their ministry is supported by Eastside Foursquare in Millcreek, Wash.
Carol Van Dahlen serves at the Good News Study Center in Bangkok, Thailand. Her duties include teaching English to the children and adults who attend the language school. Carol is supported by Huntington Beach Foursquare in Huntington Beach, Calif.
